Damon established IndiSport in 2011 to provide student-athletes with international experiences. He enjoys working with coaches and school administrators to create a once-in-a-lifetime tour for their program. Stephenson is a former assistant coach at several Division I men’s basketball programs including Winthrop University, High Point University, Gardner-Webb University, and the College of Charleston. At Winthrop, he was a member of four consecutive Big South Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances under head coach Gregg Marshall from 1998-2002. He also spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Georgetown College in Kentucky, where he helped guide the Tigers to a 66-5 overall record and a No. 1 national ranking.
Damon was a scout for two professional basketball teams in Australia—the Sydney Kings and Adelaide 36ers. As the managing partner of Elite Classic Basketball, he helped to orchestrate High Stakes Hoops, a nationally-televised tournament in Australia that attracted professional talent from around the world. He was the Director of Marketing for Basketball New South Wales (BNSW) and was the head coach of the North Sydney U-18 D1 men’s team.
Most recently, Stephenson was the head men’s basketball coach at DME Academy, a college preparatory school in Daytona Beach, FL. Before that, he was the head men’s basketball coach at St. Joseph Academy in St. Augustine, FL, where he led the Flashes to back-to-back FHSAA District 3-3A championships in 2014 and 2015. From 2004-06, he served as the athletic director and head men’s basketball coach at Cape Fear Academy (CFA) in Wilmington, NC. During his tenure at CFA, they captured the 2005-06 EPIC Conference Championship, earning Stephenson the EPIC Conference "Coach of the Year" award.
Damon played basketball at Greenup County High School in South Portsmouth, KY, where he was a three-time All-16th Region selection and honorable mention All-State performer. He was a member of the men’s basketball team at Pikeville College (now the University of Pikeville), where he garnered a pair of NAIA Academic All-American honors and was a three-year captain.
